Hi, I’m Kayla — I’m a fine art wedding photographer with a passion for capturing relationships in a way that showcases how they are naturally, effortlessly, and authentically.
Beyond wedding photography, I’m a sucker for the simple things in life. On my days off, you’re guaranteed to find me with my fiancé Stephen at the park throwing the ball for our dogs, Gus and Ollie, or on our couch in yoga pants in the middle of an endless Netflix marathon of The Office. I live for busy days spent hiking, and quiet evenings with the love of my life in front of a bonfire, just as much as I do for wild floral arrangements and father-daughter dances.
Beyond wanting to make you feel beautiful when you look back on all of your wedding images, I ultimately want to create wedding galleries that tell a full story of your day. From start to finish, your images will bring back all of the emotions that you experienced throughout the day in the same way I’m taken right back to the moment Stephen proposed with this image of us.
I focus on building real friendships with my clients in order to capture their relationship in a way that is comfortable, relaxed, and completely free of any of that “awkwardness” that most people feel in front of the camera (myself included!)
I genuinely want all of my clients to feel as if I am a friend they have had forever, and that their wedding day isn’t going to be spent with just a hired hand. Instead, it will be spent with someone who wholeheartedly cares about them, their families, and the memories they are creating.
Using the more common terms to describe wedding photography these days, my work definitely leans on the "light and airy" spectrum! Beyond just the visual style, though, my work is also all about comfort, romance, and authenticity! I love to make my clients feel their very best by guiding them into flattering poses, but also love to make those poses feel as natural as possible by having fun and getting comfortable while shooting!
Hands down, it is making friends with so many of my clients. One of my favourite 2016 brides still texts me dog memes on a weekly basis and I seriously don't remember my life before her in it. I feel insanely lucky to work with so many amazing couples who turn into lifelong friends!
I accept a maximum of twenty weddings per year to ensure that each and every one of my clients receive the best service I can provide!
Yes! I studied photography at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario and was in the graduating class of 2012.
I shot my very first wedding in October of 2012 and am now going into my fifth year of business!
Each photography collection, no matter how small, always includes beautifully retouched images photographed by myself in high resolution delivered through a customized online gallery. Each collection also includes full printing rights to your wedding images so that you have the option of creating stunning prints and albums either on your own or through the print company I use that only services professional photographers!
Photography collections begin at $3250 for 8 hours of continuous photography coverage. On average, my clients invest $4500 on their wedding photography experience. To see a full price list, please get in touch!
Yes! I own at least two of all of my camera bodies as well as additional flashes and lenses so that if something were to malfunction on your wedding day, there is never a beat skipped! They are always with me during every wedding in case of an emergency.
Yes! If your venue requires liability insurance, please let me know and I can provide you with proof of insurance.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this industry, I frequently have multiple brides who inquire within days of each other for the same wedding date. In order to stay fair to everyone, I will not place preference on any individual inquiry and do not hold wedding dates until the booking process is completed with a signed contract and retainer fee in place.
Yes! Absolutely! Just make a note of it in an email to me and I’ll be happy to send galleries over to you so that you can get a good idea of what you will end up with.
Typically I try to meet all of my clients for an in-person consultation before we complete our booking. Since my process is so hands-on and personal, I really like to make sure that we “vibe” and that we will work well together. For international weddings or even weddings that are just a tiny bit too far to meet in person, I love scheduling these consultations for either Skype or FaceTime. If after we have met in person we both feel that we are a great fit, I will send you an online booking proposal where you can select your final package. I then require a 50% retainer fee, along with a signed contract.
On average, my couples receive roughly 70-100 edited images per hour. This varies based on each individual event and is greatly impacted by whether or not a second shooter is hired. Weddings are always delivered within 8 weeks of your wedding by using a very user-friendly online gallery that allows you to view, download, and share all of your images in high resolution as well as order printed products directly through me. I also include printing rights as a standard with all of my packages, so that you are able to print products on your own if that is the method you prefer.
Yes! I frequently travel for weddings and love it! I automatically include travel for all weddings within the Greater Toronto Area, and charge a small fee for any weddings requiring further travel based on any gas, flight, or hotel costs that will be incurred. This is done on a case-by-case basis, but please feel free to email with the exact location and dates so that I can provide you with a personalized quote.
I don't know what it is about dog people, but I think we have a 6th sense for sniffing (pun intended) each other out. From the very first email I received from Kayla, I knew we would get along perfectly.
My fiancé, Pat, was not able to attend our first meeting, but was pleasantly surprised when I called him 3 hours later saying, "well, that must have gone well."
Kayla is warm and inviting and is the type of person that makes you feel as if you've been friends forever. It doesn't help that we probably spent an hour showing one another dog photos and reliving tales of the hilarious things our dogs do.
While she most certainly got brownie points for being a dog-lover, she's also a fantastic photographer. Just browsing her work online, you can see how light and airy her photos are. If you are the kind of Bride (or client) who love natural light (and ferns/greenery), Kayla is the photographer you want to hire. She'll make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and creates images where two regular individuals, suddenly look like they belong in a magazine.
Before Pat & I got our engagement photos taken, Kayla came to my mom's house to take some family photos for us, (which proudly hang all over my mom's house now). If Kayla can handle taking photos of a crazy, blended family she can handle anything. I'm also confident that my mom now loves Kayla more than me. I love our family photos, I love our engagement photos and I LOVE our wedding photos. I am so happy with our decision to work with Kayla, and I'm so happy that we became friends in the process. Kayla puts her heart and soul into her work and you can trust her with yours. Do yourself a favour and contact her now.

Words cannot describe how THRILLED we are with our wedding pictures and how much we absolutely LOVED working with Kayla.
She was an expert at making us and our guests feel comfortable on the day and ensuring everyone looked their best and most relaxed for all of our pictures. Each shot is beautiful and Kayla captured both beautifully posed pictures, and wonderful candids as well. Kayla was such an absolute delight to work with and the memories she preserved for us are priceless. Thank you!!

Never have I ever had the pleasure of working with such a gem! Out of all the vendors that I hired for my wedding, Kayla was the easiest, most professional, and most accommodating to us. She made the process so enjoyable. I felt no anxiety about my choice in Kayla. I was able to relax completely and enjoy my day. Additionally, She fit in with my bridal party and I FLAWLESSLY. It was like having an extra bridesmaid which was a huge bonus combined with my GORGEOUS pictures. She was also a huge bargain for the quality of photos and experience that we had. HIRE THIS LADY.
