Frequently Asked Questions

frequently asked questions*

Do you charge fees for travel?

I automatically include travel for all weddings within the Greater Toronto Area, and charge a small fee for any weddings requiring further travel based on any gas, flight, or hotel costs that will be incurred. This is done on a case-by-case basis, but please feel free to email with the exact location and dates so that I can provide you with a personalized quote.

How many photographs will we receive? How will we receive them?

On average, my couples receive roughly 50-75 edited images per hour. This varies based on each individual event and is greatly impacted by whether or not a second shooter is hired. I deliver both weddings and portrait sessions immediately after the editing process is complete by using a very user friendly online gallery that allows you to view, download, and share all of your images in high resolution as well as order printed products directly through me. I also include printing rights as a standard with all of my packages, so that you are able to print products on your own if that is the method you prefer.

How long does the editing process typically take?

I always deliver my clients wedding day images within 6-8 weeks. For engagement and portrait sessions, this is normally 4-6 weeks but varies based on the amount of time my film lab takes to develop your film which varies at different times of the year.

How much hourly coverage do we need?

On average, most clients tend to book an 8 hour package and normally are quite happy with the amount of coverage they receive. This, however, is very dependent on your own individual timeline. You are more than welcome to reserve your date with a smaller package and add additional hours at a later date once you are more firm on what your wedding day will look like timing wise. I am also completely open to clients adding more coverage on the day of their wedding if they find that things are running a bit longer than normal!

Do we really need a second photographer?

Yes, and no. While it is not absolutely necessary, there are definite benefits to having a second photographer and I personally prefer having two for one main reason; there is never a moment missed. With two photographers, you are able to have photographs of both the bride getting ready in the morning and the groom, whereas with one photographer it is extremely difficult to have enough time to capture this without the couple getting ready in extremely close proximity. Throughout the rest of the day, second shooters have extreme benefits. You’ll receive multiple angles of all of your major events since we are rarely shooting from the same vantage point, and family photographs are significantly more organized since the second photographer acts as an assistant at that point in the day to get together all of the family members. Second photographers are not a standard with my packages, but they are able to be added to any collection (see the “Additions” section below for pricing details).

How do we complete the booking process?

Typically I try to meet all of my clients for an in person consultation before we complete our booking. Since my process is so hands-on and personal, I really like to make sure that we “vibe” and that we will work well together. For international weddings, or even weddings that are just a tiny bit too far to meet in person, I love scheduling these consultations for either Skype or FaceTime. If after we have met in person we both feel that we are a great fit, I will send you a booking proposal where you can select your final package. I then require a 50% deposit, along with a signed contract. These final steps are all completed in an incredibly simple and convenient way entirely online.

Will you be available to help us with any planning after we book?

Yes, yes, more yes! Once each and every couple books with me they have full access to my planning guide which I have specifically designed to answer most of the photography related questions you may have, and also a few non-photography essentials to planning your dream wedding — like a full vendor guide for Toronto and GTA weddings! I am also always available through email or phone calls to answer any questions you may have! I by no means think that this rules out the extreme benefit of having a wedding planner who is specifically trained and talented in this area, but it has been very beneficial to couples who have opted against that method.
