It has been such a long time since I photographed a Scarborough Bluffs engagement session. This night with Emily and Emmanuel made me want to make it a regular thing!
Since so many parts of Toronto are flooded this Spring, shooting on Lake Ontario has been complicated. What is normally a simple walk-on-the-beach has become a full-on off-roading adventure. Thankfully, Emily and Emannuel were totally up for the challenge during their Scarborough Bluffs engagement session.
When Emily was deciding where we could photograph their engagement session in Toronto, the Scarborough Bluffs was a clear choice. Since she and Eman currently live in Boston, they didn’t have a lot of attachment to many places. The bluffs were somewhere that they had actually visited together on a past trip and already had happy memories together!
I love when couples are able to shoot somewhere that they have some sort of emotional attachment to. These photos are all the more meaningful when they’re tied to all of the memories you have together. For Emily and Emannuel, all of those sentimental moments led to Scarborough Bluffs. For others, it could be a family cottage, a winery they frequent, or even a downtown street in their neighborhood! Incorporating places or activities that you love is the best way to have your session reflect your life together.
To say that I’m excited to share these photos is such an understatement!
Not only am I so happy about how this location worked out for them, I’m also just so thrilled with how all of the other choices they made came together. Emily put so much thought into their outfits for the session, and this truly might be my favourite engagement session dress I’ve ever photographed!
