Sometimes a little bit of edge can go a long way, and that is definitely the case for this Hamilton engagement session —
When a bride like Sarah comes to me with an idea to have her engagement session in an urban environment while rocking an emerald green Vera Wang gown with her beau, Jordan, there is a 100% chance that I’ll freak out in the best way possible! Sarah and Jordan were dead set on having their engagement session capture the same city vibe that drew them to their wedding venue, The Art Gallery of Hamilton. We decided that the best way to accomplish this was with a downtown Hamilton engagement session while using some of the greatest hidden gems on Locke Street — and when I say hidden, I mean hidden! The first half of their engagement session was photographed in some of the coolest alleyways we could find!
We followed up their downtown Hamilton engagement session with a romantic stroll along Princess Point through fields of goldenrod at sunset! I love how both locations still seemed to compliment Sarah and Jordan’s personalities so well, and whichever situation I threw at them they ended up running with it and spending the whole time laughing. They are such an easy-going, fun, and upbeat couple, and even in a few short hours spent with them it is so clear to see why they are such a good fit for each other!
This engagement session was such a dream come true to photograph and I can’t wait for their wedding this Summer at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Not only because I get to work with these two and witness them become husband and wife, but also because I get to work alongside some of my favourite local vendors, including Danielle from Shaw Events! I can’t wait to see what she and Sarah come up with for their big day!
