Let me just start this off by saying that putting this blog post together was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do —
2016 may have been the year that so many of us dread looking back on, but for me, this past year was by far one of the greatest years of my life. Stephen and I moved into a new house in a brand new town that has now become our home, added a furry little firecracker to our family by the name of Ollie, and I fell in love with 26 couples who I had the pleasure of photographing on one of the most important days of their lives.
Narrowing these images down was not just incredibly difficult because of my insane emotional attachment to every single one of the weddings I photographed this year, but it was also, weirdly enough, one of the greatest things I could have done to start off a brand new season. When I started putting this together, I never imagined that I would essentially relive how it felt to photograph every single one of these engagement sessions, weddings, and portrait sessions, but that is exactly what happened. I spent the last two weeks sifting through all of the memories that I built alongside my couples this past year, and have subsequently been crying, laughing, and smiling at my computer screen non-stop because of it.
I don’t think there will ever be words to thank each and every person who I had the pleasure of working with in 2016, whether it was one of my couples or one of their wedding vendors, because the way that each of you impacted my life over the course of 365 days is immeasurable. Pictured here or not, just know that you are so incredibly loved and appreciated, and this year would not have been the same without each and every one of you!
