When your best friend’s other best friend gets married, it’s a pretty big deal —
I first met Brigitte when I was in the sixth grade, and now 14 years later (yes, I just had to do the math on my fingers for that one) I cannot believe that I am writing a blog post after photographing her Crosswinds Golf and Country Club wedding two weeks ago. When you have dual custody over a bestie for such a long time, it’s hard to not get emotional when you get to share in such a huge life moment besides middle school Harry Potter screenings and sleepovers.
Besides the fact that I was so excited to see my friend Sam take on the role of Maid of Honour for the day, I was also just so over the moon to see two of the kindest people I have ever met become man and wife.
I’ll always remember being alone with the two of them while taking bridal portraits of Brigitte and noticing Kevin taking a seat on one of the chairs from their ceremony a few feet off in the background, just watching us. When I jokingly asked what he was doing, he smiled at Brigitte with one of the warmest and biggest smiles I have ever seen and simply said “I just want to remember this.” I think this is such a perfect example of the connection that these two share. When I think of what their future will be like as a married couple, I can’t help but smile with that same huge smile just knowing how much love and happiness is in store for them.
Brigitte and Kevin, I can’t even express how thankful I am to have been a part of this beautiful, hot, summer day. Your relationship is exactly what life is all about and I can only hope that this little sneak peek at your photos capture that huge spark the two of you share that just lights up any room you are in!
