Celebrating the small things has become an absolute must for me —
I feel like it is such a rarity to see portraits of people that aren’t taken at a “milestone” such as an engagement, a wedding, or the expecting of a child, so when I have the opportunity to photograph couples during the less celebrated moments, like a dating anniversary, a birthday, or even just a Tuesday, I am one seriously happy photographer.
Photographing this couples session for Jenn and Nick while we were all in California to celebrate Sarah and Brad’s wedding was an absolute joy for me. We spent the morning finding an unmarked hiking trail nestled on a mountain overlooking Muir Woods that just so happened to be right across the street from our Airbnb. We chatted about their road trip through Oregon just a few days before, I almost tripped about a dozen times, and we took some photographs along the way. This was probably one of the most relaxed shoots of my life, which was spent laughing about 90% of the time and freaking out over the fact that Jenn rocked a dress that she found at Target a couple of days before we met up for the other 10%.
