There is truly nothing sweeter to me than a simple in-home newborn session to capture your new journey into parenthood.

When my sweet friend Maranda first told me that she was expecting, I immediately wanted to run around the room screaming with excitement! There are always people that you come across that you know are just destined for parenthood one way or another, and from the first time I spoke to her, I knew that this incredible woman would make the best mother imaginable. She is without a doubt one of the truest personifications of patience, kindness, warmth, and compassion that I have come across, and man oh man does that make the little boy that I’m about to share with you all the luckiest baby on the planet.

Shortly after he made his way into the world, I spent the afternoon with Reed and his very excited parents along with his two dog bodyguards. Since Maranda is also a wedding photographer and very conscious of daylight in the same way that I am, she basically created a dream location to shoot in when she renovated her new home with her husband. It was such an obvious choice after all of their hard work to photograph this session in the first place that he would ever call his home. By far my favourite room in the house is her new office which is lined head-to-toe with white shiplap (my inner Joanna Gaines was in heaven) which you just have to see in the background of some of their portraits!

I could go on and on about this little family, their heart-melting rescue dogs, and their HGTV worthy home, but I’ll just let their beautiful newborn session speak for itself!
