I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Booking clients exclusively through email still freaks me out every single time.
Jenna and Brett currently live in New York City for their jobs and ultimately planned their Muskoka wedding at the Sherwood Inn completely abroad. This meant that we didn’t have a chance to meet face-to-face until their engagement session. Even though we had been talking through email for months, I arrived in Port Carling for their Sherwood Inn engagement totally terrified that we somehow weren’t going to hit it off in person and the night would be a total bust. I think from the photos you’re about to see, it’s pretty clear that did not happen.
Jenna and Brett have a warmth and kindness about them that makes even total strangers feel like their best friends.
The second they arrived, they immediately ran up to me and gave me the biggest hugs imaginable! I’ll be honest, this was especially shocking because I was at the tail end of a family camping trip in Muskoka and looked borderline homeless. The whole night was spent giggling, chatting about their wedding plans, and sipping wine at sunset. Basically, these two proved to me that despite all of my fears, the right couples always seem to find me. I’m so lucky that my job constantly brings people into my life who instantly feel like friends I’ve had forever.
The Sherwood Inn in Port Carling, Muskoka was the perfect venue for their engagement session.
I don’t think I could have imagined a better way to celebrate one of the most beautiful nights of the summer and a couple who truly brings so much happiness to everyone around them than this. I’m so thankful to the staff over at the Sherwood Inn for allowing us to sneak onto the property for the evening! As a result, we were able to photograph their engagement session while also doing a little venue walkthrough for their wedding that would take place only two months later!
Guys, I can’t even begin to express how mind-blowing this venue is. I am so beyond antsy to shoot another wedding here sometime soon! It is by far one of the most stunning Muskoka wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Don’t even get me started on the gorgeous evergreen trees towering over the entire property. Not to mention, the shoreline that acts as the perfect place to watch the sun go down over Lake Joseph! To sum up, be on the lookout for photos of their wedding soon! I can’t wait for you all to see it!
