Ever since my brother and his wife welcomed my sweet little nephew into the world, I’ve been so excited about photographing in-home newborn sessions!
There’s something so meaningful about being welcomed into someone’s home to capture these first few moments of parenthood! Most often, I’m photographing an in-home newborn session in the nurseries where babies will learn, grow, and play for years to come. Witnessing their first days in this space as they’re just getting to know their surroundings is a beautiful feeling.
I personally love the emotions that a session like this can communicate. Photographing a session in your own space immediately feels more relaxed than the traditional posed portraits we grew up with! These photos really focus on the family connection that you’re building. They always feel far more emotional to look at than a solo portrait.
Documenting these moments of Baby River in her new home was extra special for me!
Stephanie and Matt were one of my favourite wedding clients from 2019 and have since become dear friends. Watching them make their way through big milestones has been such a joy! We met just after Matt popped the question and I’ve since photographed their engagement, wedding, and now in-home newborn session. Our time together now really just feels like when you grab a coffee with a good friend to catch up!
I’m so thankful to have been able to document these once-in-a-lifetime moments for their growing family. It always means so much to be trusted time and time again!
