I think everyone sort of has running bucket lists in their head for things that they want to accomplish in life —
Most of the time mine are travel related (Still comin’ for you, Norway), but for the last few years I’ve been building a little mini bucket list of things I want to accomplish as a wedding photographer. This couple crossed off a big item on that list for me; “photograph another wedding photographer’s wedding.”
Megan is easily one of the most talented people I know so when she approached me about photographing her wedding a few short months ago, I immediately jumped for joy, had a very minor panic attack at the thought of actually photographing another fine art film photographer’s memories, and then jumped for joy again. We decided that the perfect spot for us to get to know each other a bit better and photograph their engagement session was actually at the same location their wedding was going to take place — her parents private property in Southern Ontario near Port Burwell.
We started off our session with a little tour around the property while Megan and Johnny excitedly talked about all of their plans for the wedding, trying to visualize where everything would take place in just a few short weeks. It was so incredible to watch them with gleaming smiles talking about everything they had worked so hard to plan, and by the time we got out of the car at our second location of Sand Hill Park, I felt like I had known them forever. These two are the absolute definition of kindness and warmth, and I can’t even picture what a more perfect fit for each other would look like. I can’t wait to share their intimate and beautifully designed wedding in the coming weeks, but for now here is a little glimpse at their engagement session.
